CHAPTER 10 QUALITY CONTROL (Q.C)
With the great change in the worldˇ¦s economy, the most of manufacturers will face the new challenges of competition, so they urgently need to improve the quality of products to comply with the demand of customer and market.
In order to improve our product quality and solve the problem that we always meet at our workshop, we should adopt the following steps:
I- Quality Circle:
Quality circle consists of groups of employees who work together to locate the problems, managing quality control and improving the productivity.
II- Quality Control:
A system procedure is designed to maintain the quality of a product. Units of the product may be inspected during the production. Quality control is monitored by reviewing charts to plot the percentage of defective products in relation to samples over an extended period of time.
In order to carry out quality control effectively, it is necessary for all the members of an organization from top management down to managers, foremen, and workers to cooperate and collaborate at every stage of the corporate activities, such as market survey, research and development, planning of product, design, procurement/subcontracting, manufacturing, inspection, sales and after sales services as well as financing, personnel affairs, education and training.
Just-In-Time (JIT):
A method of inventory management. Just-in-Time requires that production and distribution will be coordinated, so that inventory on hand is used efficiently. The goal is to maintain low levels of stocks, while ensuring a steady flow of products. Just-in-Time was pioneered in Japan.
