| ¡@ After the decades of civil war, the economy of Cambodia has been completely destroyed. Currently, Cambodia, under the leadership of government led by Prime Minister, H.E. HUN SEN and external assistance from the donor countries, becomes more and more stable and peaceful.
With the abundant natural resources and low labor cost, most of the foreign investors think Cambodia is the last piece of green land in Asia, and it still has a number of potential investment opportunities. However, the reason why they dare not come to invest in Cambodia is due to the lack of information about Cambodian investment environment. In the past, I had checked from the Internet and library in U.S.A., and discovered there were only two pages regarding the information of Cambodia, but it was out of date and negative.
Based on the above-mentioned reason, I think I should make some contributions to our people and country prior to my departure to U.S.A. I, therefore, decide to spend my valuable spare time from my tied schedule to collect the update information to write this economic article entitled Assessment of Cambodian Economy. My sole objective is to help the foreign investors realize the investment environment in Cambodia.
The information is derived from the following;
Ø Economic and Statistic Data in Cambodia Ø Cambodia Tax Book 2000 Ø Cambodia Tourism Statistical Report 2000 Ø Cambodia Business and Investment Handbook Ø General Population Census of Cambodia 2000 Ø Cambodian Labor Code Ø Trade Efficient in Cambodia Ø Strategic Plans for Agriculture 1997-2001 Ø Newspapers Ø Regional Economic Integration for Sustainable Development in Cambodia Ø Cambodian Development Resources Ø Other Documents ¡K
